Around June 6, 2022 CDC shut it down for an “upgrade” until July 7. When they resumed daily updates the figures were much lower for all of 2022. It takes many weeks for all deaths numbers to arrive at the final count. In the pre-update count as of June 6 there were 53,012 all deaths for the week of 4/30/22, about five weeks previous. As of 7/22/22 they reported 55,171. The number should be much higher based on the past rate of data input.

Before the shutdown I noticed all deaths began trending upward in early May.

Or, as others observe here, he’ll just hold back substantial rejoinders for a day or two, and everyone will have moved on by then. So his pets imagine themselves omnipotent, or at least competent.

As someone who writes snarky one-liners often, I can inform you «short» and/or «simple» doesn’t cut it. Haven’t tried the donor part though, and most likely won’t.

IMHO, it’s more cockup than conspiracy — Steve generally believes he knows how things work, including internet discussions, and hence has pretty specific expectations as to where the discussion will lead. Those matching his expectations get through, others don’t.

What he however most likely doesn’t get is that the more he wields his Whim™, the less effort commenters are going to put in.

I supposedly had Covid (tested “positive”) being unvaxxed, and it was basically like a mild flu. For three days. Then it mutated into a common cold for another 5. Then I was “negative” again.

It is obvious from the beginning that this thing was completely blown out of proportion in order to promote mRNA vaccines and institute controls (lockdowns, masks — measures that are useless to stop the disease, and whose only purpose was to reinforce the idea that “OMG there’s a pandemic going on.” But with such methods, you could make a pandemic out of the common cold, and in some ways, that’s what they did.

Outside of (predictive) Hole-wood movies, we never did this for any disease, not even for the first SARS, so that gave it the lie. It was about forcing technological and social changes, not about stopping a disease, that couldn’t be stopped any more than you could stop the common cold.

But the social, economic and psychological trauma will last for years or decades. And it’s probably not over yet, they will probably push it again. As someone above said, our “leaders” live on permanent hysteria, there’s always some panic that they want to push 24/7.

Thank you for sharing your experience with Steve Sailer’s blog. In this situation, a plausible case for the vaccines being useful could have been presented earlier, especially for older people. As time went on, though, the problems with them became more apparent. It also started to be more apparent our big public health agencies, politicians and mainstream media were trying to prevent knowledge of the problems with the vaccines from becoming public. They seemed not to be aware of the Streisand effect. Demand for the vaccines is now declining.

No one likes admitting they were wrong about something. There is a tendency in such situations to not admit you were wrong and change the subject. In this case, it seemed like almost all the vaccine proponents decided “Putin is the new Hitler” is what they were going to change the subject to. They will engage in the same propaganda, exaggerations and attempts to suppress alternative viewpoints and it will backfire on them in the same way it did with Covid.

Eating garlic will protect you from many diseases. Much more so than the sinister mRNA vaccines.

This is why I try to avoid insulting those who’ve been vaxxed. The natural tendency of most people is to lash out when forced to admit they were wrong. For those I love, I try to (gently) show them information contrary to the lies they’ve been told.

We should leave them the face saving option of saying (to themselves at least) that they were forced to take it by their school or employer. A lot of good people took it because they have kids to feed and a mortgage to pay. They made a very bad decision, but we should still have empathy.

When a new strain of covid is rolled out in the fall, many vaxxed people are going to refuse boosters. We should be ready to welcome them, we need their support.

But doomsday never appeared for those of us that took the vaccine. Doctors have an over 99% vaccination rate and yet they didn’t drop off like flies or grow new limbs.

Sailer most definitely censors comments by holding them up for hours before posting. I rarely read or comment on Sailer’s articles. Too many useless, superfluous articles on sports.

My comments that seemed like personal attacks, apparently, simply pointed out succinctly where Dr. Hudson’s socialistic errors are derived from. They come from his weak-minded tendency to favor the dishonest people who borrow money, enjoy it and then complain because they have to pay it back.

The alternative to borrowing money and then spending it is to save money and then spend it. That’s way too hard for our current generations of thinkers. Also, saved money is a lot more difficult to spend, especially if it amounts to spending it on such a worthless product as a modern college education.

I’ve found in my experience that saving money usually results in a growing desire not to spend it on crap. It’s one of the best things I taught my children and one of the few things they learned well.

I didn’t switch sides after getting it. I thought it was unfortunate that big pharma and the medical cartel had blocked easy access to early treatment programs involving the use of combinations of inexpensive nutritional supplements, steroids like Dexamethasone, and off label uses of expired patent drugs like HCQ and Ivermectin. Dr. Brian Tyson and Dr. George Fareed treated 7000 patients with such a program with no deaths. Other physicians who used similar early treatment programs like Dr. Pierre Khoury and Dr. Peter McCullough also showed impressive results.

These early treatment programs weren’t widely adopted because the few doctors who tried to use them or even talk about them were threatened with loss of their medical licenses. Active attempts to suppress knowledge about them in the media were also made. This was done to boost profits for big pharma and the medical cartel. There was more money to be made by mandatory vaccinations for the entire population and using ineffective but expensive patented drugs like Remdesivir in treating patients. There was also more money to be made by the continued flow of big pharma advertising money to the media and continued big pharma donations to politicians.

There were also attempts to pretend that natural immunity after exposure was ineffective and to act like the virus wouldn’t mutate into a milder form even though this always happens with this type of virus. If it didn’t, people would still be dying from the 1918 Spanish flu, 1957 Asian flu and 1968 Hong Kong flu.

It is good that some of the nefarious machinations on this blog are coming out. I have often wondered about some of the narratives advocated on this blog.

I am aware of the banning warning on his articles. What I’d like to know is how many posters he has banned. Maybe that piece of information should accompany not just Hudson’s articles, but all articles so that people get a sense of how protective every author is of criticism.

From my perspective, all of economics is just mostly worthless opinion that always favors more spending of thin air currency on woke projects or militarism. For decades, economists have provided their advice to the finance industry and gov’t and look at where the entire world finds itself. Economists should be ashamed of themselves for the obviously bad advice they’ve either given or signed on to to produce the current environment.

As for student loans, there should never have been any connected to gov’t. It is the over availability of loans that has driven up the cost of all higher education. The entire student loan scam needs to be turned off. Decades ago, the gifted students that needed help in financing their education got help from non gov’t sponsored institutions that evaluated them for the probability that helping them would pay off in societal benefit. Today, if a student has a pulse and wants to get a gender studies degree, it can probably get a loan. This is insanity.

The outstanding student loans are probably going to get written off since a large portion went towards artsy fartsy degrees that are never going to pay off. Asking for blood from a stone isn’t going to work, like it or not. Crippling an individual with a nonsense degree with life long payments helps no one. The student loan scam should just be recognized as another failed gov’t program and the funds written off so that hundreds of institutions find themselves with reduced new student enrollment to the point that they close up shop. There needs to be a general deflationary environment established for the higher education system so that student expenses return to something reasonable. The amount of gouging that’s been going on simply has to stop.

I wonder if granting moderation privileges is necessary to retain what’s left of the Author roster. Linh Dinh, one of my favorites, was granted this shortly before leaving. (But TMK he used it sparingly if at all and only with nasty, insubstantial commenters.)

Someone else can try again under Bugs & Suggestions #2, but in my experience Mr. Unz usually ignores questions about things like this. So here we are trying to figure it out by ourselves in a thread under an unrelated article by an author who (apparently) lets the readers rip.

Re: COVID (and « long covid »)

According to the new definition of « anti-vaxxer », I am one of those. But I’d been following the political landscape for a few years before it « happened », and it was an obvious scam, all of it. So I never got jabbed, and never regretted it. Way too damned fishy.

About 2 years ago, I caught some kind of bug, and I still have it. These are my symptoms :

1. A dry spot on the back of the throat, kinda like when a bunch of phlegm is stuck there, but much thinner, almost as thin as « post-nasal drip » but not quite, and stuck there like stuck phlegm, but not cough-out-able. Dry cough.

2. My asthma is about 20-25% worse.

Not the end of the world. A bit annoying. But very distinctive. I’m 50, and I never had this kind of mucus in the throat, so dry, and so enduring. So I think « long covid » might be real.

Just my anecdotal experience, which I wanted to share.
